| The brainchild of snarling lead vocalist/mastermind lead guitarist Kenny Krenzin and stiletto-wearing drum goddess lux, Sacred Storm is an intelligent display of thrash metal mayhem. The band combines old-school influences with innovative technique, but readily maintains the ability to compel one to headbang one’s brains out. Sacred Storm’s sonic chaos is a nuclear blend of simplicity and technicality; beauty and brutality; melody and dissonance. Originally joining as the bassist, theory madman Dave Maciel now fulfills his true calling as the band’s second lead guitarist while six-string bassist Jimmy Sullivan rounds out the lineup.
Sacred Storm has been around for a little under 2 years and already they have made a mark in the underground metal scene. In April, Sacred Storm completed recording and producing their debut full-length album Man Versus Machine at Love and Laughter Recording Studio in Anaheim, CA and in May the album was released. Man Versus Machine is already getting FM radio play, online radio play, e-zine and magazine reviews across the US and internationally as well. Highwire Daze Magazine calls it “A head banging explosion of technical brilliance and intelligent lyrics that many will want to revisit time and again.” The show review featured in All Access Magazine reports, “Sacred Storm’s debut disk has the roar and ring of accomplished thrashers who have even greater heights yet to achieve.”
Upon release of their debut album, the band set off on a summer west coast SHRED OR BE DEAD Tour which kicked off on June 1st 2007 with several headlining shows in Orange County and the Los Angeles area. The band proceeded to blast through California, Oregon and Washington. “The crowds in Oregon and Washington head-banged and moshed to the music like the band members were local favorites.” – Huntington Beach Independent. The tour was self-managed, self-booked, self-promoted, and self-funded.
Sacred Storm opened for Kamelot and Leaves Eyes (Germany) this past September. Rob Swick (All Access Magazine) published a show review, saying “…at the end, Sacred Storm busted loose with their new CD’s title track, spurring a circle pit on the floor while Kenny sang of overcoming at last, which is surely a worthy sentiment for a newcomer band of this caliber.” The band has also opened for Doro Pesch (Warlock), Chris Cafferey (Savatage, Trans-Siberian Orchestra) and The Big Ball Stars featuring members of AC/DC, Motley Crue, Guns and Roses, and Alice Cooper. They have played numerous world-famous Hollywood venues including the Whisky A Go Go, the Keyclub and the Knitting Factory. Their original two-song demo was featured alongside the mighty NEVERMORE on Skratch Magazine’s nationwide-distributed Vol 32 Compilation CD. The band is currently writing heavier and more technical music and is looking forward to 2008 with a nationwide U.S. tour in June and July. |
